In the Argentine seaside city of Mar del Plata, a criminal who had been terrorizing kiosk owners was arrested. After his identification, it was confirmed that since February of this year, he had carried out at least six robberies at different stores selling sweet and salty snacks. The last robbery committed by the thief occurred on Sunday night when an employee of a 24-hour kiosk called 911 to report that a man in a gray jacket, brown visor cap, and black backpack had stolen 15,000 pesos and merchandise. According to information provided to the Argentine News Agency, personnel from the Mar del Plata DDI's Aggravated Robberies to Commercial Establishments unit began patrolling the city center until the suspect was apprehended at the intersection of Falucho and Entre RĂos streets. At the scene, the stolen items from minutes prior were seized, including 15 packs of cigarettes, 15,000 pesos, eleven chocolates, and clothing used in the crime. Following the operation, he was transferred to the Unit Penitentiary No. 44 in Batan. The surprise came when authorities cross-referenced the data and confirmed that the criminal, identified as Santiago Leonardo Pacheco, 37, was being investigated for at least six robberies committed over the past month at various kiosks in the city. The first one occurred in early February when he stole money and merchandise. The other incidents happened in March when, in just 12 days, he robbed five locations using the same modus operandi.
